Ethical Guidelines - Code of Conduct

Everyone who works at Miles strives to act fairly and correctly, towards ourselves, our business, and our surroundings. This is why we have developed a set of guidelines for good business practice. Our vision is to be an outstanding workplace, based on the values of professional authority and warmth. For many of us, the job is not just a job; it is also a passion. This is why we want to create a workplace where everyone has room to develop, and where we always treat each other and everyone around us with respect and dignity.

Integrity and Transparency

Miles takes responsibility for our actions. In our workplace, we consider it very important that everyone demonstrates integrity in every relationship and transparency in every situation – towards our customers, suppliers, and partners, and not least internally. Based on this, we carefully evaluate any gift exchanged between us and customers, suppliers, and partners. If a supplier or partner offers to pay for a meal or an experience, you must consider whether you would expose yourself to a conflict of interest. If the meal or experience is proposed during contract negotiations, we recommend that you always politely decline. Consequently, Miles will make the same assessment when we invite our customers and partners to events paid for by us. When we are in a negotiation situation with a customer, we will always consider whether it is appropriate to invite them to our events.

Diversity

We actively work to create an inclusive work environment that gives all employees the opportunity to develop their personal strengths and individuality. As we see it, everyone who works with us has the responsibility to ensure that Miles is an outstanding workplace. We have a zero-tolerance policy regarding bullying, sexual harassment, offensive behavior, or slander. Should any of this occur, and if it feels uncomfortable to confront the person concerned, we ask you to report it in accordance with current guidelines.

Competitors and Partners

Professionalism and transparency are underlying principles for everything we do related to our customers, partners, authorities, and employees.

At Miles, we care about our customers, and many of us spend a lot of time on their premises. When we visit customers, we ensure we respect and follow their guidelines and rules.

We believe competition is a positive thing. As we see it, competition is the best driving force for increased performance and innovation. This is why we consider competition a golden opportunity to become even better at what we do, and we always treat our competitors with respect.

We rely on our successful partnerships to do our job, and we maintain good relationships with our partners.

Sustainability

As part of our ESG agenda, Miles is committed to preventing actual or potential negative impacts on human rights and decent working conditions across our locations.

We strive to engage only with suppliers and business partners who commit to high standards of human rights and working conditions, and we expect all our counterparts to conduct their business operations in accordance with internationally recognized principles of responsible business conduct.
We care about our planet, and we always try to find the most sustainable solutions. We want to contribute by operating a sustainable and environmentally friendly business. Examples of such practices include measures like Eco-Lighthouse certification and CO2 neutrality.
