OptoScale is a technology company in the aquaculture industry that provides real-time measurements of weight, lice, and health to ensure fish welfare, reduce costs, and optimize operations for fish farmers. By combining machine vision and artificial intelligence, we make data accessible to customers through a web portal and API.

From Challenge to Solution
With the rapid development of AI models and an increasing number of real-time parameters to be made available to customers, we needed to accelerate the development pace of our web portal. Simultaneously, it was crucial to reduce technical debt and find scalable solutions for future development.

Miles delivered a solution that included a change in work methodology and a review of our front-end development. They broke down the codebase into independent components, providing us with a more flexible and future-proof structure. In addition, they delivered several new pages for the portal and helped elevate the team's expertise, partly through the use of Storybook to efficiently develop and visualize components.
The result of the collaboration is that we can now implement new components in the web portal more quickly, while the flexibility for further development has significantly improved. This has made our solution more scalable and efficient.
